REPLACING THE BATTERIES

See fig. 31 - 36
NOTE: Use only RYOBI ride-on mower lead-

The mower operates on four 12-volt batteries
connected in series. If replacing one or more
of the batteries, always replace them using

and capacity.
WARNING
Use only original lead-acid batteries when

Never mix different makes and sizes
of batteries in the series. Doing so will
eventually cause damage to the batteries
and may also damage the mower.
WARNING
Do not open or damage the batteries.
Released electrolyte is corrosive and may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be
toxic if swallowed.
Do not incinerate the battery. The batteries
could explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions.
When batteries are not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects like, paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small
metal objects, that can make a connection
from one terminal to another. Shorting the
battery pack terminals together may cause
sparks, burns, fi re or explosion.
Exercise care in handling batteries in order
not to short the battery with conducting
materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys.
The battery or conductor may overheat and
cause burns.
