6. Initial Start-Up
6.1. Electrical Connection
CAUTION!
• Electrical connection is only permissible in the deenergized state and must be
completed by authorized, trained personnel.
• Voltage inputs "+", "IN1", "IN2" and "Mag" must be protected against continuous
overvoltage.
• PELV power packs in accordance with EN 60204-1 must be used.
• The required electrical line and device protection equipment must be provided during
installation.
• The safety outputs can be used for direct interconnection within the safety-relevant
section of the user's controller.
• For requirements in accordance with PL e / category 4 per EN ISO 13849-1, the safety
outputs of the safety sensor or sensor string must be connected to an evaluation unit of
the same category.
6.1.1. Mode of Operation of the Safety Outputs
of SD4ICS0xSE89 variant "Guard locking device monitored"
• The safety outputs are enabled, when the following conditions are met:
− The actuator has been detected and
− The interlock is locked, the magnetic force is > 500 N
• The safety outputs are switched on when the actuator is in contact with the Guard Locking Device
and the magnet is activated.
• The safety outputs are switched off within the specified risk time when the Guard Locking Device is
unlocked.
• The unlocked Guard Locking Device can be locked again, as long as the actuator is in contact with the
Guard Locking Device. The safety outputs are then switched back on.
• Locking force F is continuously measured and monitored electronically. A contaminated Guard
Locking Device can be detected in this way.
• If locking force drops to below 500 N, safety outputs OSSD 1 and OSSD 2 are not enabled.
of SD4ICS1xSE89 variant "Actuator monitored"
• The safety outputs are enabled, when the following conditions are met:
− The actuator has been detected, the latching force is active and
− Locking with magnetic force > 500 N possible
• Due to the permanent monitoring of the closed magnetic circuit, the safety outputs are only enabled during
the latching, when the magnetic circuit is properly closed and the latching force can also be obtained when
activated. If the metal surfaces are soiled or damaged, the enabling signal is not transmitted.
• The unlocking of the SD4ICS1xSE89 does not lead to a switch-off.
