5.3 Positioning the control cube
ATTENTION:
Do not put the control cube on the floor as it might be damaged by the appliance or inattentive
persons.
NOTE:
If you forget to turn on the control cube, the cleaning robot will automatically attempt to establish a
connection to the control cube later. If it succeeds then a blue light will be emitted from the LED as
described above, and the control cube is on.
The cleaning robot still works if a connection with the control cube cannot be established. The
area you can then clean, however, is much smaller, and it does not go down the edges at the end
of the cleaning process.

NOTE:
If you want the robot to clean several rooms
one after the other, you can buy additional
control cubes (order information ZPage 54)
and use one control cube per room (also
see ZPage 35). Though the distance of the
control cube should be no more than 8 m.
1. Turn on the control cube using its on/off
switch
(Fig. 19).
- The blue LED on the control cube will
now flash until a connection is estab-
lished with the robot.
- As soon as a connection has been es-
tablished, a continuous blue light will be
emitted from the LED.
- Then 1–3 of the status LEDs on the ro-
bot will shine blue depending on how
strong the signal from the control cube
is.
2. Position the control cube so that:
- it is on a high piece of furniture;
- it can send a signal towards the ceiling
without hindrance;
- it is approximately in the centre of the
room to be cleaned;
- its blue LED is pointing into the room;
and
- its blue LED points away from the near-
est walls (Fig. 20).
NOTE:
The robot begins to create a virtual map of
the room to be cleaned after being switched
on. It remembers this map until it is
switched off or the control cube is moved.
The map is also stored in pause or stand-by
mode.
3. If the robot has finished cleaning, you can
take the control cube into the next room
and start cleaning again.
