Mounting grass seed drilling
equipment
Demeter Classic type CS
1. Mount grass seed hopper brackets (A) on the
machine. Drill 2 x 3 holes ø8.5 mm for the
brackets in the seed hopper. The brackets must
be fitted at the distance shown from the edge of
the seed hopper. Note that there are left-hand
and right-hand brackets, one of which is fitted
with a stop to prevent cassettes from swivelling
and to hold them in position when the agitator is
uncoupled.
2. Fit the brackets (B) on the grass seed hopper
as shown. Drill 2 x 2 ø8.5 mm holes for the
brackets in the grass seed hopper.
3. Mount the grass seed hopper on the seed drill.
4. Mount the cassettes for the grass seed drill. To
enable these to be mounted, it is necessary to
fit an extension on the seed drill gearbox (C). It
is recommended that the extension be fitted on
the cassette first and then on the gearbox so as
not to overload the gearbox when the tubular
pin is fitted. Remember to turn the cassettes (D)
and (E) in relation to each other as shown,
otherwise the gear ratio will be incorrect.
5. Mount the bracket (G) that prevents the
cassettes from swivelling round and hold them
in place while the agitator shaft is being
disconnected.
6. Using the brackets (K) provided, fit the holders
(J) for the seed delivery hoses.
7. To prevent the delivery hoses from obscuring
the spray band indicator (L), the indicator must
be moved outwards by using a longer bolt and
a distance piece. Also apply a new transfer
(sign) by the indicator.
8. Shorten the delivery hoses so that they go just
through the holders and fasten them to the
seed cells with hose clips.

Demeter Classic type CSA
1. Mount the brackets (A) and (B) for the grass
seed hopper on the drill.
2. Mount grass seed hopper on the drill. First
check whether the existing holes in the grass
seed hopper can be used. If necessary move
the posts (C) a little to make the holes match. If
this proves to be impossible, drill 2 x 2 ø8.5 mm
holes in the grass seed hopper.
3. Mount the cassettes for the grass seed drill. To
enable these to be fitted, it is necessary to fit an
extension on the seed drill gearbox (D). It is
recommended that the extension be fitted on
the cassette first and then on the gearbox so as
not to overload the gearbox when the tubular
pin is fitted. Remember to turn the cassettes (E)
and (F) in relation to each other as shown,
otherwise the gear ratio will be incorrect.
4. Mount the bracket (G) that prevents the
cassettes from swivelling round and hold them
in place while the agitator shaft is being
disconnected.
5. Mount the delivery hose holders on the running
board using the brackets (J). If the seed drill is
an older model where the running board is
mounted under the chassis members (K) the
board must be moved backwards using the
brackets (L) (extra equipment). Mount the
support (M) for the delivery hoses in front of the
running board. Note that separate holders (N)
are used for the two outermost delivery hoses
at the drive wheel.
6. Mount the holder (O) for the drive wheel. Lift the
drive wheel and check to make sure that the
holder is mounted correctly before the bolts are
tightened.
7. Shorten the delivery hoses so that they go just
through the holders and fasten them to the
seed cells with hose clips.
