An oil pressure output is included in the wire harness and can be used for a pressure gauge if desired (see below for scaling). If using the optional
oil pressure signal from the engine, ensure the CP engine wire harness is plugged into the oil pressure sensor.
A vehicle speed output is included in the wire harness for use with auto-scaling speedometers. The vehicle speed sensor connector in the CP wire
harness must be attached to a variable reluctance (analog) type speed sensor (typical of most late model GM automatic transmissions) for this to
function. The output signal is a 12-volt square wave.

Performance parts. Please verify the correct part number engine and engine controller is used with this kit. Refer to the Chevrolet Performance
website or catalog for proper usage.
Transmission Fluid Fill Procedure
Caution: Use DEXRON®VI (P/N 88861037 US, Canada 19264717) transmission fluid only. Failure to use the proper fluid may result in transmission
internal damage.
Caution: Check the transmission fluid level immediately after adding fluid and before vehicle operation. Do not overfill the transmission. An
overfilled transmission may result in foaming or fluid to be expelled out the vent tube when the vehicle is operated. Overfilling will result in
possible damage to the transmission.
Transmission Fluid Fill Procedure
Before checking the fluid level, perform the following:
1.
Start the engine and park the vehicle on a level surface. Keep the engine running.
2.
Apply the parking brake and place the
3.
Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through each gear range, pausing for about 3 seconds in each range. Then, move the
shift lever back to PARK (P).
4.
Allow the engine to idle 500–800 rpm for at least 1 minute. Slowly release the brake pedal.
5.
Keep the engine running and observe the transmission fluid temperature (TFT). The TFT can be seen using the laptop program provided
with the kit.
The TFT is critical to ensure proper fill of the transmission.
Cold Check Procedure
Note: Use this procedure only as a reference to determine if the transmission has enough fluid to be operated safely until a hot check procedure
can be made. The hot check procedure is the most accurate method to check the fluid level. Perform the hot check procedure at the first
opportunity. Use this cold check procedure to check fluid level when the TFT is between 80°F and 90°F (27°C and 32°C).
1.
Locate the transmission dipstick.
2.
Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean rag or paper towel.
3.
Install the dipstick by pushing it back in all the way, wait three seconds and then pull it back out again.
Note: Always check the fluid level at least twice. Consistent readings are important to maintaining proper fluid level. If inconsistent
readings are noted, inspect the transmission vent assembly to ensure it is clean and unclogged.
4.
Check both sides of the dipstick, and read the lower level. Repeat the check procedure to verify the reading.
5.
Inspect the color of the fluid on the dipstick. The fluid should be Red or Dark Brown. If the fluid is very dark or Black and has a burnt
odor, see Fluid Condition Section of this Instruction Sheet.
6.
If the fluid level is below the COLD check band,
much fluid, generally less than one pint (0.5L). Do not overfill.
7.
If the fluid level is in the acceptable range, push the dipstick back in all the way in place.
Perform a hot check at the first opportunity after the transmission reaches a normal operating temperature between 160°F to 200°F (71°C to 93°C).
