■ "Cooling" mode
The fans are controlled according to the surface temperature of the radiator (tab. T3, BQ1 sensor). For aftercooling mode, use the Z-TH-
HC thermostatic head set to "K". When using a diff erent thermostatic head, the fl ow of heating medium in the radiator is not guaranteed
at high ambient temperatures
BQ1 sensor
17 °C - 23 °C
< 17 °C
> 23 °C
The temperatures listed in Table T3 are valid for the values measured by sensors BQ1 and BQ2. They may diff er from the values mea-
sured by external temperature sensors.
Do not adjust the position of the BQ1 and BQ2 sensors! Do not cover the radiator! Leave the area around the radiator
clear! If there is not enough air fl ow around the radiator, the temperature sensors may not work correctly and therefore aff ect
the functioning of the whole device.
For cooling mode, it is necessary to make the appropriate adjustments to the source of the heating/cooling medium.
The operator is obliged to ensure by appropriate measures that the temperature of the medium is above the dew point
!
of the air in the room. If the temperature of the medium drops below the dew point, water vapour condenses on the
radiator and there is a risk of its damage due to corrosion. With this aftercooling it is possible to reduce high temperatures
by several °C. This is not however an air-conditioning unit! It is not possible to change the set switch-on and switch-off
temperature!
■ "Diagnostic" mode
The control unit automatically checks the function of the temperature sensors and operation of the fans. If a fault is detected, the fans are
switched off and the indicator diodes on the panel (Fig. V5) indicate the cause of the fault (Tab. T4) by fl ashing. Switching of the control
unit to diagnostic mode occurs automatically.
Indication
■ Exiting "diagnostic" mode
After the fault has been remedied (see Chapter 7.2.) and the power supply has been connected, "diagnostic" mode ends automatically.
Fan speed is set to zero.
7.2. Device faults
If the RADIK V-POWER is not working properly, carry out a check as described below.
■ Initial activation did not take place
See Chapter 7.1. - "Preparing for operation"
- Check the external power supply and the mains voltage.
- Check the XS1 power connector and the power cable of the external power supply and the control unit (Fig. V3).
■ The fans are not working – "heating" mode
The temperature of the radiator is > 32 °C: (Tab. T2)
- Check the position and attachment of the BQ1 sensor. The sensor must be in contact with the metal surface of the RADIK V-POWER
radiator (Fig. V1).
In order to check the position of the BQ1 sensor, the V-POWER ventilation unit must be removed. The procedure for this is shown in Fig.
A1 to A6. First disconnect the XS1 power connector (Fig. A1). When disconnecting the connector, hold the bracket to prevent the connec-
tor from sliding out of position (Fig. S8). Remove the thermostatic valve and remove the radiator side cover (Fig. A2). Release the radiator
side cover by sliding it up and to the side (Fig. A4 and A5). The H1 bracket and BQ1 radiator surface temperature sensor are mounted on
the radiator outlet pipe found under the control panel of the ventilation unit (fi g. A6). Check if the BQ1 sensor touches the radiator pipe.
If everything is in order, reinstall the ventilation unit and radiator side covers by reversing the procedure for removal (Fig. B1-B4). When
fi tting the ventilation unit, make sure that the locks at the ends of the ventilation unit are inserted into the top of the radiator side cover
(Fig. B1) and that the lower and upper holes in the side cover are fi tted over the radiator bushing (Fig. B1 and B2).
