The basic settings (NFC) must not be changed. Changes may impair the function of the furnace and
cause the spirals to burn out.
Additives, such as borax, attack the heating spirals and can cause the furnace to fail even during the
first use. The service life of the heating elements is shortened when the furnace is operated near
the maximum temperature. Therefore, do not leave the furnace at maximum temperature permanent-
ly unless absolutely necessary. The maximum temperature of your furnace can be found under „3.
Technical data". Do not place any fuel wadding (mineral fiber mat) directly on the bottom of the firing
chamber. This will lead to heat accumulation in the bottom heating and consequently to premature
wear and defect of the heating. To avoid damage or contamination, always place the firing material on
a ceramic plate in the furnace chamber. After finishing your work, disconnect the power plug. Do not
wrap the connecting cable around the warm furnace.

Care and maintenance
Deposits of black soot may arise inside the firing chamber. Remove these deposits when
necessary by operating the empty kiln at the maximum temperature for 45 minutes in order
to burn the soot away from the heating elements and the insulation. The outside of the kiln
may be cleaned with a damp cloth, when the kiln has cooled down. Under no circumstances
should water be introduced into the firing chamber. Do not use solvents for cleaning.

Servicing / repair
If you observe any optical changes or damage regarding the kiln, it may no longer be used
and must be sent to our factory to be checked. The kiln may not be opened mechanically.
All repairs are carried out at our factory. Send us the kiln in its original packing and original
padding material together with a description of the fault. Remove any temperature sensors
and firing inserts to secure the devices for the transport. Cost estimates are free of charge,
only forwarding charges are invoiced. If further defects are discovered during the repair, you
will be informed of these.
