Extended Storage and Winterization
If the washer will not be used for several months, or if it is located in a room that may drop below freezing
temperatures, important steps must be followed to remove water from the machine and prevent damage.
To winterize:
1. Pump antifreeze through the freshwater system.
2. Turn on the washer.
3. Select the Temp. button until the Hot+ icon is flashing on the display.
Note: Press the button twice from original power up settings on Perm Press.
4. Select the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.
5. Let the cycle run for 30-40 seconds, or until antifreeze can be seen filling the drum. This is pumping antifreeze into the
hot water lines of the unit.
6. Select the On/Off button to cycle power off. This will cause the cycle to stop.
7. Turn the washer on a second time.
8. Select the Temp. button until the Cold icon is flashing on the display.
Note: Press the button three times from original power up settings on Perm Press.
9. Select the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.
10. Let the cycle run for 30-40 seconds or until antifreeze can be seen filling the drum.
Note: It is recommended to wait the full 40 seconds on this cycle as leftover antifreeze can be seen from previously
adding antifreeze to the hot water line.
11. Select the On/Off button to cycle power off. This will cause the cycle to stop.
12. Finally, use the cycle selection dial to select Spin Only.
13. Run the Spin Only cycle to completion to ensure the unit is completely drained.
To prepare the unit for use:
1. Flush the water pipes.
2. Turn on the washer.
3. Select the Temp. button until the Hot+ icon is flashing on the display.
Note: Press the button twice from original power up settings on Perm Press.
4. Select the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.
5. Let the cycle run for 30-40 seconds, or until clear water can be seen filling the drum. This is flushing antifreeze from
the hot water lines of the unit.
6. Select the On/Off button to cycle power off. This will cause the cycle to stop.
7. Turn the washer on a second time.
8. Select the Temp. button until the Cold icon is flashing on the display.
Note: Press the button three times from original power up settings on Perm Press.
9. Select the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.
10. Let the cycle run for 30-40 seconds or until clear water can be seen filling the drum.
Note: It is recommended to wait the full 40 seconds on this cycle as leftover water can be seen from previously
flushing the hot water line.
11. Select the On/Off button to cycle power off. This will cause the cycle to stop.
12. Finally, use the cycle selection dial to select Spin Only.
13. Run the Spin Only cycle to completion to ensure the unit is completely drained.
Transporting the Machine
In the event the machine must be moved to a new location, drain the water from the machine utilizing the steps in the
"Extended Storage and Winterization" section. Handle the machine carefully. Never hold the machine by the door or
other fragile protruding parts while lifting.
