9. Using the device
Do not turn on the device before you have read and understood these operating instructions.
Check again that all connections are correct.
a) Switching the mixer on/off
Not observing the following sequence when switching the mixer on and off could damage the
loudspeakers or the amplifier.
Switching on the devices
• Make sure that all channel faders (8) and the MASTER fader (9) are set to minimum volume (faders pulled
all the way down).
• First switch on the playback devices connected to the mixer.
• Switch on the mixer using the POWER switch (1) (put switch in ON position).
• Switch on the connected amplifier(s) and the recording device (connected to the REC socket (17)). The
mixer is now ready for operation.
Switching off the devices
• To switch off the mixer, completely turn down the volume on the mixer and then on the amplifier.
• Switch off the amplifier.
• Then, switch off the mixer using the POWER switch (1) and then the playback devices (record player,
CD player etc.).
• If you are not using the mixer for a longer period, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
b) Selecting the input
Reduce the volume to the minimum using the corresponding channel fader (8) before using an
input selection switch (3). Due to the different levels of the playback sources, sudden, exces-
sive volume might be present when switching between the inputs.
• Use the input selection switches (3) to select the desired input of the corresponding channel.
Example:
To select a record player connected to the PHONO CH 2 sockets, set the input selection switch of CH-2 to
PHONO.
