FOODSTUFF DEFROSTING INSTRUCTIONS
INDICATIVE WEIGHT
Standing time
Individual portions of food can be cooked almost immediately after defrosting.
It is normal that large portions of food remain frozen in the middle. Leave them at room
temperature for at least one hour before cooking them. During the standing time, the
temperature will distribute uniformly and the foodstuffs will defrost due to conduction.
•
The foodstuff must be turned during the cycle time to guarantee uniform defrost-
ing.
•
When the foodstuff can be cut with a knife, it indicates that it is defrosted com-
pletely.
•
Defrosting in the microwave oven penetrates the foodstuff for a maximum of four
centimetres.
If the foodstuffs are not to be cooked immediately, put them in the
refrigerator. Never freeze the defrosted foodstuffs again without having
first cooked them.
Minced or diced meat and fish
Given that the outer part of these foods defrosts quickly, they must be separated; divide the
blocks into pieces often during defrosting and remove them from the oven once defrosted.
Small portions of food
The chops and pieces of chicken must be separated as soon as possible, so that they can
defrost uniformly, also inside. The fatty parts or the edges defrost quicker. It is advised to place
them in the centre of the rotating plate or to protect them.
Bread
The loaves require a standing time to allow uniform defrosting in the centre. The standing
time may be reduced if the bread rolls and loaves are cut in half and the slices are separated.
