27. Do not use the microwave oven to dry newspapers or clothing.
28. Use shorter cooking times for small portions to prevent the
foodstuffs overheating or burning.
29. Foodstuffs such as potatoes, sausages and chestnuts must be peeled
or pierced before being cooked in the microwave.
30. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in
microwave ovens since they may explode even after microwave heating
has ended; furthermore, do not heat vacuum-packed or sealed bottles,
jars and containers, shelled nuts, tomatoes etc.
31. Use gloves if you remove any heated food.
32. Slowly remove the edge of the container lid furthest away in order
to prevent the vapour escaping from hitting the face. Burns hazard.
33. Do not touch the heating elements or the internal parts until the
oven has cooled down completely.
34. Stir liquids during or after heating and then leave them to stand
for a few seconds to prevent spillage/splattering caused by boiling.
35. When opening the oven door, stay at arm's length to prevent burns
when hot air or vapour escape.
36. So as not to damage the rotating glass plate:
- allow it to cool before washing it
- do not position hot utensils or food on the cold plate
- do not position frozen utensils or food on the hot plate.
