COOKING UTENSILS GUIDE
During cooking, the microwaves must be able to penetrate the foodstuffs without being
reflected or absorbed by the plate.
For this reason, it is necessary to pay great attention when choosing the materials for
cooking. If the materials for cooking are marked as microwave-safe, they can be used in
complete safety.
The following table lists the various types of materials for cooking, indicating suitability
for use in the microwave oven.
If in doubt, it is possible to check the utensil in question with the following procedure:
1. Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (150 ml) along with the utensil
in question.
2. Cook at maximum power for 1 minute.
3. Carefully touch the utensil; if it is hot it is not suitable for the microwave.
4. Do not exceed the cooking time of 1 minute.
