V. OPERATION
5.1- Intended use
The log splitter is a machine intended to split firewood, in which the log is split through the pressure
of a slab against a fixed wedge.
Only pre-cut logs should be split with the log splitter.
The splitter is solely intended for private use for DIY and home use.
Metal parts (e.g. nails, wire, etc...) must be removed from the log wood.
- Do not use the machine for purposes not appropriate (e.g. cutting products containing hazardous
materials ...), or for any use not described in this manual
The splitter is designed to be used by one person
5.2- Application conditions
This log splitter is a home use model.
It is designed for operating under ambient temperatures between +5°C and 40°C and for installation at
altitudes no more than 1000m above M.S.L.
The surrounding humidity should less than 50% at 40°C.
It can be stored or transported under ambient temperatures between -25°C and 55°C.
5.2.1- For 042101 - log splitter 6T
The log splitter must be used horizontally and
never vertically!
5.3- Before operating the log splitter
Check the oil level and refill as required before use.
1. Familiarize yourself with the controls and features of the log splitter (refer to the illustrations).
2. The Bleed Screw should be loosened by some rotations until air can go in and out of the oil tank
smoothly. Air flow through the Bleed Screw hole should be detectable during the log splitter is under
operations.
Failure to loosen the bleed screw will keep the sealed air in the hydraulic system.
The air being compressed and then decompressed, such continuous air compression
and decompression will blow out the seals of the hydraulic system and cause
permanent damage to the log splitter.
3. Before moving the log splitter, make sure the bleed screw is tightened to avoid oil leaking from this
point.
4. Plan your work site.
Work safely and save effort by planning your work beforehand.
Have your logs ready to split positioned tidily where they can be easily reached.
Have a site located to stack the split wood or load it onto a nearby truck or other carrier.
5. Prepare the logs for splitting.
5.1. The 6T log splitter PREHLS6SR/042101 can accommodate logs up to 52cm in length and with
diameter from 30 to 250mm.
5.2. The 7T log splitter PREHLS71T/VE/042111 can accommodate logs up to 106cm in length and
with diameter from 70 to 400mm.
5.2.2- For 042111 - log splitter 7T
The log splitter must be used vertically and never
horizontally!
