Driving safety notices
• Driving speed: Always observe the maximum speed permitted according to road traffic regulations. Irrespective
of this, we recommend a maximum cruising speed of 120 km/h when transporting bicycles with this coupling
bicycle carrier!
• The attachment of the rear carrier system must be checked regularly by the driver.
• Attention: according to § 22 of the StVZO, the driver is responsible for securing the load.
• Always remember that the legislation in force in the country of destination must be observed.
• Folding mechanism: Warning - Always make sure that the folding mechanism is firmly closed.
• By using the rear carrier system, the rear slope angle is limited in comparison to the series, so that the vehicle
can touch down earlier on uneven road surfaces. The changed driving and braking behaviour caused by the rear
carrier system and the load should be taken into account by adjusting the speed.
• Crosswind: Reduce driving speed in crosswind!
• Braking, accelerating, cornering: Avoid jerky braking and acceleration! Avoid jerky steering movements!
• Driving backwards and parking in reverse: When reversing and parking, observe the total length of the vehicle
with the coupling-mounted bicycle carrier!
• Impaired visibility to the rear: If visibility to the rear is impaired, suitable rear-view mirrors (e.g. right-hand exte-
rior mirror or trailer rear-view mirror) must be fitted to the vehicle.
• Check coupling bicycle carrier: Check the fastening straps and belts before assembly, damaged straps and belts
must be replaced immediately. After initial assembly, check all connections on the coupling bike carrier (bolts,
straps, nuts) as well as the fastening of the load after a short distance of driving. Afterwards, you should check
these connections again at regular intervals (in bad road conditions correspondingly more often)! After each use,
check that the product is undamaged. Make sure that the lighting unit is functioning properly before setting off.
• For trips in Italy and Spain: The coupling bicycle carrier protrudes beyond the dimensions specified in the vehic-
le registration document. Mount the warning plate prescribed in the respective country!
Safety notices for the bicycles
• Tandems may not be transported on the bicycle carrier.
• Fixing bicycle parts: Make sure that you do not lose any bicycle parts (side stand, bell, saddle) while riding! Bicycle
accessories such as child seats, air pump, e-bike batteries, battery lights, navigation devices, bicycle computers, tool
bags, baskets and pannier racks must not be mounted on the bicycle during transport! The bicycle rack and trailer
coupling can be damaged by excessive wind load. Before setting off, remove all panniers from the bicycle Do not use
any protective covers, tarpaulins, foils or anything else for the bicycle while riding.
• Warning: When mounting the bicycles, make sure that they do not protrude more than 400 mm beyond the outer edge
of the lights of the coupling bicycle carrier and not beyond the outline of the vehicle!
• Marking the load: If the load protrudes more than 40 cm beyond the outer edge of the light-emitting surfaces of the
marker or rear lights of the rear-carrying system, it must be marked, if necessary, by a light with a white light to the
front and a light with a red light to the rear, not more than 40 cm from its edge and not more than 1.5 m above the
road.
• Caution: When you mount the coupling-mounted bicycle carrier on the trailer coupling of your car, the engine must be
switched off, the ignition switched off and the handbrake applied!
• Warning: Do not cover the bicycles with cloths while riding.
• Warning: When mounting the bicycles, note that the heavier of the two bicycles must be mounted on the inner rail.
The centre of gravity of the load must be as low as possible and close to the vehicle.
• Warning: On some bicycles it might be necessary to turn the handlebars. Pay attention to the position of the pedals.
• Warning: Dismantle the bicycle carrier before having the vehicle washed by a car wash!
• Warning: All persons who use your vehicle with a mounted bicycle carrier must be informed about these safety
instructions. If you pass this product on to third parties, please include these operating instructions with the relevant
safety instructions! The product must not be modified!
• Note: For the safety of other road users and to save energy (fuel consumption), the bicycle carrier must be removed
from the vehicle when not in use.
• Note: Enclose the European Operating Permit (EEC) included in the scope of delivery with your vehicle documents.
Keep the EEC ready for possible inspections!
• Note: If you carry a load on your vehicle, you are responsible for both your safety and the safety of others. The ma-
nufacturer declines all responsibility for any injury or damage to objects or persons caused by incorrect installation,
excessive speed or incorrect driving behaviour. The manufacturer is not liable for damage to objects or persons.
