Um ein einwandfreies Befahren der Doppelkreu-
zungsweiche DKW 15 zu gewährleisten muß ihr
Herzstück polarisiert werden.
Achtung: Weichen mit polarisiertem Herzstück
dürfen nicht „aufgeschnitten" werden, weil im
Falle von Befahren der falsch gestellten Weichen
zum elektrischen Kurzschluss kommt.

Turnouts without roadbed
Track-Grid
The flexible track-geometry is based on a simple
grid with a basis rectangle of 61.6 x 230 mm for
the 15° track-system and of 61.6 x 345 mm for the
10° track-system (fig. 1).
Signal unit
ROCO turnouts are sold without signal-units and
can be equipped alternatively with the following
transmissions:

The manual transmission is externally identical
with the side-transmission so that the installation
instructions are the same.
Transmission's fastening
The side-transmissions are attached to the turn-
outs with screws; the turnout has special attach-

into the turnout and can be removed if necessary.
The transmissions for single turnouts and curved
turnouts can be attached either at the out- or in-
side of the turnout as required by the track layout.
It must be taken into consideration to interchange
right-hand for left-hand transmission and vice ver-
sa. Fig. 3 shows the possible locations of turnout's
transmission depending on the type of the turnout
in use and its position in the track layout.
By making up the track plan is must be taken
into account that in case of complicated turn-
out arrangements a mutual interference of turn-
out-transmission may occur. In most situations
the problem can be resolved by placing the trans-
mission at the Opposite side of the turnout. If this
will not resolve the problem the turnout must be
moved for at least 1/4 of the standard-track length.
Diagonal installing
If a turnout is placed at the diagonal order to
continue the track direction different length rela-
tions will occur. The gaps between the connection
