3.
Light the firelighters and close the door. If the chimney is cold the door may be left open a bit to allow
additional air into the stove for combustion to occur. Once the fire is alight the door can be closed.
Never leave the stove unattended when the door is open.
4.
Once the flames from the logs are fully established (up to 10 mins), slide the primary air to the left
to the closed position. If the stove flames begin to falter and generate smoke in the chamber slide the primary
lever to the right again to re-establish the fire. It may be necessary to unlatch the door again until the fire is
fully established.
5.
Once the fire bed is established close the primary air and slide the secondary air lever in to 45% open, for the
stove to burn cleanly. Plenty of secondary air is needed. Do not be tempted to shut the fire down too early as
this may cause smoke. At nominal heat output, expect to refuel your stove approximately once an hour. Check
load weights for your model on the table on page 16.
WF UNIQ26 / WF UNIQ27 / WF UNIQ28 models are all equipped with air control levers for secondary and primary air
and they are designed to ensure a plentiful supply of oxygen during firing. When lit, the stove will get very hot and
due care must therefore be exercised. Please use a glove when operating handles and air control levers.

REFUELING
To refuel in the cleanest way: Before refuelling open secondary and primary air slider fully (on ash pan) and leave for
5 minutes. Open door gently, add two pieces of wood measuring approx. 20 cm with a combined weight of approx.
1.3kg and close the door. Leave the air sliders open for 10 minutes to allow the fire to reach a good temperature.
Close primary air slider (on ash pan) and slide secondary air valve to 45% open.
If your stove is over heating, close all dampers and close the door. Leave it until the stove has returned to
nominal temperatures.
In the event of a chimney fire: Call 999 and follow the instructions on page 17.

Tertiary air ports: six ports at the rear
of the combustion chamber provide
fresh preheated air to improve sec-
ondary combustion of gases.
Door handle: pull out right, away
from the fire. Wear the protective
glove when fire is lit.
Ash pan: when lighting open primary
air slider (behind handle on ash pan)
and pull open the ash pan by 1 cm.
Secondary air: the air slider is placed
below the ash pan. Pull out for more
air and push in to reduce air. Once
warm your stove will be controlled only
from this valve.
