Troubleshooting Hedge Trimmer or Battery

Remedy
► Charge battery as described in the User
Manual for STIHL AL 101, 301, 301-4,
500 chargers.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the
socket and plug it in again.
► Switch on the hedge trimmer.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use your hedge trimmer and contact your
STIHL servicing dealer for assistance.
► Spray both sides of cutting blades with
STIHL resin solvent.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use your hedge trimmer and contact your
STIHL servicing dealer for assistance.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to cool down.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the
socket and plug it in again.
► Switch on the hedge trimmer.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the battery; contact a STIHL authori‐
zed dealer.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the
socket and plug it in again.
► If the hedge trimmer still fails to start
when switched on: Clean the contacts of
the connecting cable as described in the
STIHL AR battery's User Manual or in the
User Manual for the "AP belt bag with
connecting cable".
► Allow hedge trimmer or battery to dry.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to cool down.
► Pull connecting cable plug out of the
socket and plug it in again.
► If the hedge trimmer continues to cut out
during operation: Clean the contacts of
the connecting cable as described in the
STIHL AR battery's User Manual or in the
User Manual for the "AP belt bag with
connecting cable".
► Switch on the hedge trimmer.
► Fully charge battery as described in the
User Manual for the STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500 chargers.
