TROUBLESHOOTING
Before asking for repairs, conduct your own inspection first. If you find a problem that is not explained in the manual,
do not attempt to dismantle the tool. Instead, ask Makita Authorized Service Centers, always using Makita replace-
ment parts for repairs.

Install a charged battery cartridge.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharg-
ing is not effective, replace the battery
cartridge.
The chain saw is automatically turned off
if it is un-operated for approximately 5
minute(s). Turn on the main power switch
again.
The chain saw is automatically turned off
when the motor stops due to protection
system operation for approximately 5
minute(s). Take remedial action on your
tool, and then turn on the main power
switch again.
Release chain brake.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharg-
ing is not effective, replace the battery
cartridge.
Fill the oil tank.
Clean the groove.
Adjust the amount of oil delivery with the
adjusting screw.
Install the battery cartridge as described in
this manual.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharg-
ing is not effective, replace the battery
cartridge.
Ask the authorized service center in your
region for repair.
Pull the switch trigger after the main power
switch is turned on and the chain brake is
released.
