ELECTRONIC CONTROL SETUP
INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Sensitive Electronics
ESD problems are present everywhere. ESD may damage
or weaken the electronic control assembly. The new control
assembly may appear to work well after repair is finished,
but failure may occur at a later date due to ESD stress.
n Use an anti-static wrist strap. Connect wrist strap to green
earth connection point or unpainted metal in the appliance.
Touch your finger repeatedly to a green earth connection
point or unpainted metal in the appliance.
n Before removing the part from its package, touch the
anti-static bag to a green ground connection point or
unpainted metal in the appliance.
n Avoid touching electronic parts or terminal contacts;
handle electronic control assembly by edges only.
n When repackaging failed electronic control assembly
in anti-static bag, observe above instructions.
General User Information
LOCATE KEY
– The key is located in the drum with this
literature and foot caps.
DO NOT LOSE this key-The key is used to enter service mode
to allow you to set up machine for use. The machines come
pre-configured from the factory:
MODEL PD (coin drop or free vend see note): These models are
configured for 30 min dryer cycle time at a cost of $1.50 per
cycle as default from factory.
Mode 6 default is 06.
Mode 7 default is 05 from factory (maximum time is
75 minutes).
Price and Time is primarily set up through mode 6 & 7. Mode 6
is how many quarters (i.e. default = 6 =$1.50) & Mode 7 is how
much cycle time per quarter. Mode 7 defaults to 5 from factory.
Mode 6 and 7 gets multiplied to determine cycle time.
NOTE: If you set mode 6 to 00, this will be a free vend and the
cycle time treats it as a 1 so if Mode 6=00 and Mode 7=45 the
cycle time is 45 minutes and no cost.
MODEL PR (free or pay reader ready)
These models default to mode 6=00 and Mode 7=45 from
factory (max time is 75 minutes).
This is a free vend with a cycle time of 45 minutes, see
explanation in PD section.

General User Information
"OUT OF ORDER" SHOWING IN DISPLAY – This condition
indicates the dryer is inoperative. Diagnostic or failure code
will follow the scrolling message.
"0 MINUTES" SHOWING IN DISPLAY – This indicates the
previous cycle is complete or a machine reset was performed.
Opening the door(s) will restore the display to the Vend Price or
Available state.
FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS – Dryer is programmed at the
factory as follows:
45 minutes dry time for PN/PR models; 5 minutes per coin for
PD models.
$1.50 dry price (fixed cycle with top off – PD Models)
$0.00 dry price (fixed cycle – PN/PR Models)
WARM START (after power failure) – A few seconds after
power is restored, if a cycle was in progress at the time of the
power failure, "RESELECT CYCLE" will flash in the display.
This indicates a fabric setting button needs to be pressed
to restart dryer.
There are 4 types of dryer pricing:
Fixed "Vend" Pricing
A dryer set up for "Fixed Cycle" operation can only accept
additional time accumulated by increments equal to the length
of a complete dry cycle. A maximum number of minutes may
be purchased; no additional credit is given when the maximum
minutes are displayed.
Accumulator Pricing
If the price is set to one coin 1, then accumulator pricing
is in effect. Cycle time can be purchased one coin at a time
(PD models) up to the maximum time.
Fixed Cycle With Top Off Pricing
A dryer set to offer "Top Off" capability will allow time to be
added to an existing dry cycle in increments equal to the
number of minutes of dry time per coin (coin 1), up to the
maximum minutes, regardless of the cost required to start the
dryer. No credit is given for coins or debit inputs entered when
the control is displaying the maximum minutes.
PR Models: In Enhanced Debit Mode, the top off price can be
set independently (see VALUE OF COIN 2), and the top off time
is calculated according to the following equation:
top off price
full cycle price
Hundredth increment offset is not applied to top off purchases.
PR Models – The factory has preset the cycle price to zero.
When this happens, "SELECT CYCLE" will appear rather than
a cycle price. Any cycle started as a free cycle will automatically
terminate when the door is opened.
DEBIT CARD READY – This dryer is debit card ready. It will
accept a variety of debit card systems, but does not come with
a debit card reader. Refer to the debit card reader manufacturer
for proper dryer setup. In machines using a Generation 1 debit
card system, debit pulses represent the equivalent of one coin
(Value of Coin 1).
