Read the instructions in this
repair manual and work
accordingly.
Repair Conditions
Only damage to the windscreen outer surface
■
may be repaired.
The windscreen inner surface and plastic film
■
must not be damaged.
Always carry out repairs in the shade or cover the working area. Direct sunlight or even an overcast sky
■
can provide sufficient UV light to cause the repair resin to set prematurely.
The ideal windscreen temperature lies between 4°C and 29°C.
■
Repair resins are not compatible and must not be mixed.
■
After every repair, clean the injector housing and the gasket using Active Windscreen Cleanser.
■
Regularly clean the suction pads of inspection mirror and suction holder and lubricate with glycerine.
■
Fractures in the driver's field of vision must not be repaired!
For a car, the field of vision is formed by a perpendicular, 29 cm wide band centered on the centre
■
point of the steering wheel, bordered at top and bottom by the windscreen wiper field (see Fig. 12).
For a truck, the field of vision is formed by a square field with a side length of 29 cm.
■
The centre point M of this square on the windscreen is shown in Figure 13 (driver's seat in middle
position).
A gauge is available for determining the driver's field of vision in cars and commercial vehicles
in Germany (see Figure 13).
