Various Playback Modes
You can play back picture at various modes: reverse
playback, still and field by field pictures, and high-
speed playback in both forward and reverse directions.
TRACKING –/+
Picture Search
During playback, press FF M (forward direction) or
REW m (reverse direction). A high-speed picture
(about 5 times the normal speed in 2-hour mode in SP
mode, about 7 times normal speed in 6-hour mode in
EP mode) without sound appears on the monitor
screen.
To resume normal playback, press PLAY B.
When FF M is pressed
In the display window
Note
During picture search, streaks or noise band appear on the
monitor screen.

When REW m is pressed
Still Picture
During playback, press PAUSE X.
To resume normal playback, press PAUSE X or
PLAY B.
When the still mode lasts for more than approximately
five minutes, the VCR will automatically stop.
If the picture shakes while in the still mode
Adjust the picture with TRACKING + or –.
Field-by-Field Picture
In the still mode, press FF M or REW m.
Each time you press the button, the picture advances
by one field.
When you hold the button down, the picture advances
continuously.

Reverse Playback
During playback, keep pressing REV b. Reverse
playback picture appears on the screen.

Notes
• During reverse playback, streaks appear on the monitor
screen.
• This function works only during playback in SP 2H mode
(when using T-120 or T-160 tape in SP mode), EP 6H
mode (when using T-120 tape in EP mode) or EP 8H mode
(when using T-160 tape in EP mode).
