The size of the brake disc on the front wheel can
only be modified from the eBike's original equip-
ment by a specialist retailer. The specialist retailer
must obtain consent from the eBike manufacturer
and an updated software configuration of the ABS.
If the size of the brake disc is modified indepen-
dently, this will prevent the ABS from working cor-
rectly. There is a greater risk of falling over.
WARNING – ensure the minimum tread depth of
u
the tire
Only the tires intended for the respective bicycle
category may ever be used as tires. If another tire is
used or the tire tread depth is less than 1 mm for
cycling on the road or 2 mm for cycling off-road,
correct operation cannot be guaranteed. There is a
greater risk of falling over. Servicing and repairs
must always be carried out by authorized profes-
sionals.
WARNING – specific ABS applications for spe-
u
cific applications
To cover the applications of ABS, there are four dif-
ferent applications available: Touring, Allroad, Trail
and CargoLJ. The four applications are configured
differently and must not be modified. The Allroad
and Trail applications give riders the option of
switching off the ABS (off mode) because they are
not approved for challenging braking conditions.
Always adapt your riding style to the present envi-
ronmental conditions and your personal cycling
abilities and also wear appropriate personal protec-
tive equipment for the application.
WARNING – ability to switch off the ABS
u
If the safety features have been deactivated (the
ABS is in off mode), the ABS will not intervene to
control the brake, i.e. the bicycle will have the brak-
ing behavior of a normal brake system without ABS.
If the brake is operated too strongly, it could cause
the front wheel to lock or the rear wheel to lift, and
also a potential pitchover. Always adapt your riding
style to the present environmental conditions and
your personal cycling abilities.

WARNING – extended braking distance due to
u
ABS
The ABS is an important safety component that
prevents the front wheel from locking, reducing the
risk of slipping on roads with poor grip and falls on
non-slip roads. However, this system can also re-
sult in extended braking distances in some cases.
Always adapt your riding style to the present envi-
ronmental conditions and your personal cycling
abilities.
WARNING – careless cycling
u
Under no circumstances should the presence of
ABS be considered a substitute for careful cycling.
It is primarily a safety function for use in emergen-
cies. The rider is always responsible for adapting
their riding style to the situation on the road.
WARNING – braking around corners
u
The ABS is a safety system that reduces the risk of
the wheels locking. There is an inherently greater
risk of falling when braking around corners. The
rider is always responsible for adapting their riding
style to the situation on the road.
WARNING – ABS intervention is limited.
u
In extreme riding situations, the ABS may not be
able to control the eBike all the way through to a
complete stop. The ABS function can be re-enabled
for braking by briefly releasing the front-wheel
brake. Always adapt your riding style to the present
environmental conditions and your personal cycling
abilities.
WARNING – eBike pitchover
u
The ABS is not always able to prevent the eBike
pitching over in extreme riding situations (e.g.
when carrying a heavy bag with a high center of
gravity or the eBike having a high center of gravity,
e.g. due to the saddle being set high as a result of a
small frame, or variations in the road surface or
steep descents). Always adapt your riding style to
the present environmental conditions and your per-
sonal cycling abilities.
