4. Cabinet placement and airflow
Positioning the cabinet correctly optimises temperature conditions and performance, thus helping to save energy
and extend the service life of the cabinet. Cabinets with castors may be anchored to the wall behind them as a
safety precaution.
1. Set the cabinet in its place and adjust the cabinet to stand perpendicularly using the adjustable legs.
2. Make sure that the airflow to the condenser unit is unobstructed.
4.1. Side by side placement of plug-in cabinets
Individual stand-alone cabinets that are not multiplexed together can nonetheless be placed side by side to form a
line of cabinets. When placing cabinets this way, the following precautions need to be considered.
1. Place the cabinets next to each other.
2. Make sure the cabinets are level and at equal height. Adjust if needed.
3. Push the cabinets close together, making sure to leave a wide enough gap between the cabinets for
safety (heated cabinets) and to prevent condensation on the glass walls between cabinets.

4.2. Airflow in plug-in cabinets
Front panels
All FL2 plug-in variants need an adequate space between the cabinet chassis and its cladding to maintain proper
airflow to the condensing unit. If this space is obstructed partially or completely, it impairs the efficiency of the
cabinet and may shorten the lifespan of the condensing unit components.
FL2 cabinets with RG glass enclosures have flat front panels which may be replaced with custom front panels. If
custom front panels are used, they must leave at least a 40 mm gap between the top edge of the front panel and
the lower horizontal surface of the air deflector (A) as well as a 150 mm gap between the lower edge of the front
panel and the floor (B).
