The
e270
tape recorder requires no regular
maintenance other than occasi onal cl eaning
of the capstan shaft, the pinch roil er. the
sound heads, and the tape guides, and de-
magnetization of all metal parts that come in
contact with the lape.
For this purpose we recommend the REVOX
cleaning kit (Part No. 39000) and the REVOX
demagnetizing choke
(Part
No. 10,042,002.01)
Moisten a felt stick with clean ing lIuld and
clean all tape guidance elements, Then dry
the cleaned parts with
El
new. clean fell swab
or cleaning web.
Important:
Make sure that no cleaning fluid penetrates in-
to the bearing of Ihe capstan shaft or contacts
Lhe cover of the VU-meters because this
would damage the bearings or the covers
Switch off the Lape recorde r and remove the
lape suHicienlly lar away from the recorder
Slowly approach the part to
be
demagnetized
With the lip of the energized choke an d after
a
bflef monll J n! retrac t it slowly. Repeat thiS pro-
ced ure lor all melal parts lhat come in contacl
with the tape (sound heads, tape guidance ele-
ments, guide rollers, lifting pin). Withdraw th e
choke from the recorder (approx. 50cm) be-
fore you SWitch it off.
Caution:
The demag netizing choke also demagnetizes
you r record ed tapes ilthe choke com es close
to the tapes!
