Operating instructions
Starting the engine
NEVER START OR RUN THE MOTOR WITHOUT ENSURING THAT THE WATER IS BEING SUPPLIED TO THE PUMP.
These instructions will be referenced in other sections that follow as «starting the engine».
Starting the engine using the electric starter:
1. Open the fuel valve (G in fi gure 7), moving the lever to the left until the end.
2. Close the choke (H in fi gure 7).
4. Turn the engine switch (J in fi gure 7) to the «START» position until the engine starts.
4a. For manual starting: Gently pull the starter handle (K in fi gure 7) until you feel resistance,
then pull suddenly. Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. ENSURE it
recoils back slowly to avoid any damage to the engine.
5. While the engine is warming up, gradually open the choke (H in fi gure 7).
6. Let the engine idle for a few seconds.
7. Push the throttle lever (G in fi gure 7) all the way to the left, at maximum speed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use the electric starter for more than 5 seconds at a time. If the
engine refuses to start, release the switch wait 10 seconds before using the
starter again.
DANGER:
• Never run the engine indoors or in a poorly ventilated enclosed area such as a garage, tunnel
or cave.
