OPERATION
Test the shears on a piece of scrap material to determine the cutting capacity of
the blades.
1.
Make sure to hold the shear with both hands safely away from the blades.
2.
Position the tool near the workpiece, but do not allow the blades to overlap
it. The center blade (#34) will be underneath the workpiece. The left blade
(#32) and right blade (#35) will be above it.
3.
Squeeze the trigger (#24) and allow the blades to reach full speed before
applying the tool to the workpiece.
4.
Feed the blades into the workpiece. Do not force the blades into the
workpiece when cutting. Apply moderate pressure, allowing the blades to
cut without being forced.
5.
Complete the cut before stopping the air shear. This will help keep the
blades from getting caught in the workpiece.
6.
If the tool requires more force to accomplish the task, verify that the tool
receives sufficient, unobstructed airflow (see Specifications). If the tool
still does not have sufficient force at maximum pressure and sufficient
airflow, then a larger tool may be required.
7.
Release the trigger (#24) to turn off the shear. Allow the blades to stop on
their own. Do not press against the blades to stop them.
8.
Turn off the air compressor, then squeeze the trigger again to release any
remaining air pressure from the tool. Disconnect the shear from the air supply.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1.
Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to
control and will have fewer problems.
2.
Inspect the tool fittings, alignment, hoses and power supply cord periodically.
Have damaged or worn components repaired or replaced by an authorized
technician. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
3.
Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
4.
Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.
5.
Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.
