4.3- Installing the guide bar and the chain
WARNING! Make sure that the chainsaw is switched off and unplugged from the mains
power source before proceeding to any intervention on the product such as assembly,
maintenance, repair, cleaning.
WARNING! - The saw chain has very sharp edges.
Note: Before assembling the chain, pay attention to direction of cutting teeth and to
chain direction of rotation. The direction of rotation is indicated by an arrow on the
housing. Follow the assembly direction and chain run direction.
1. Fig.2: Release the chain brake (3): pull the chain brake lever (3) towards the front handle.
2. Fig.2: Undo the clamping knob (15) of the chain cover and remove the chain cover (a).
3. Fig.3 & 4: Set the guide bar (2) onto the threaded stud (c).
4. Fig.3 & 4: Slip the chain around the sprocket (d) and into the groove on the guide bar (2).
5. Fig.3 & 4: Guide the saw chain around the sprocket (d) and concurrently pull the saw chain slightly
in the direction of the arrow (see (b)).
The saw chain may drop slightly on the lower part of the guide bar.
6. Install the chain cover (a) and retighten the clamping knob (15).

4.4- chain tension adjustment
1. To ensure chain rotates freely, rotate the saw chain
by glove-protected hand so that the chain fits the
sprocket (d) and the guide bar (2).
2. Turn the tensioning ring (f) to the right.
This increases the tension of the chain.
Note: The saw chain has proper tension when:
- it can be lifted for about 3-4mm above the middle of
the guide bar (see Fig.4).
- and when it can be pulled around the guide bar by gloved hand.
3. Firmly tighten the clamping knob (15).
4.5- Chain Tension Control
Control the chain tension regularly because new chains lengthen during use.
When in COLD STATE: the saw chain must adhere to lower side of the guide bar, but it must be able
to be pulled by gloved hand.
When reached OPERATING TEMPERATURE: the saw chain lengthens and it slacks.
Parts of the saw chain must not rise from the notch on the lower side of the guide bar – saw chain
could jump out. Tighten the saw chain more.
- Use thick protective gloves for safety.
