Amy 1 sun protect Modes io
3.5.Use in local mode for indoor overheating protection
A temperature sensor, not visible, is embedded into Amy 1 sun protect Modes io.
This sensor measures the temperature inside the room (around Amy 1 sun protect Modes io) and onboards intelligence to
automatically lower sun protection during heatwaves to improve thermal comfort.
In this local mode, if the sensor detects important temperature raises, it automatically places the paired motorised products
in the sun protection position to limit the solar exposure and try to maintain temperature below the maximum temperature
defined by the product (by default, 26°C corresponds to the discomfort temperature threshold defined by the RE2020
regulations).

What is the order sent to the sun protection depending on the selected control mode?
▪ With mode 1 selected (Roller shutters, awnings, screens,...): Close order of +80% from current position.
◦ To keep some light inside the room in case of occupancy
◦ To limit the risk of being closed outside
◦ Not my order because it can be modified by the user and lost its consistency for sun protection.
▪ With mode 2 selected (Lighting and heating - on/off and dimming): No order.
◦ Motorised products linked to this mode are not done for sun protection.
▪ With mode 3 selected (External Venetian Blinds): Close order of 100% with 45% tilt.
◦ Equivalent to my position for EVB, which is communicated and presented as the best protection against the sun.
◦ Not my order because it can be modified by the user and lost its consistency for sun protection.
▪ With mode 4 selected (Internal Venetian Blinds): Close order of 100% with 45% tilt.
◦ Equivalent to my position for IVB, which is communicated and presented as the best protection against the sun.
◦ Not my order because it can be modified by the user and lost its consistency for sun protection.
To activate/deactivate the automation on Amy 1 sun protect Modes io, refer to Allow/Inhibit orders from Amy
automation.
The sensitivity threshold can be adjusted, refer to Adjusting the sensitivity threshold of Amy automation.
The use in local mode is a first step of automation, but this sensor can also work in combination with TaHoma to access
more advanced automation.
To switch from local mode to use with TaHoma, refer to Use with TaHoma.
3.5.1.Recommendations for using Amy automation in local mode
▪ The positioning of Amy 1 sun protect Modes io is crucial for correct temperature measurement: wall mounting is
highly recommended.
◦ Refer to Recommendations for wall mounting to optimise temperature measurement.
▪ Night cooling:
◦ During heatwaves, Amy 1 sun protect Modes io automation operates even better if the room/home temperature
can be reduced during the night.
