NOTE:
Restrictions apply when defining the curve points in order to
avoid errors. The difference between the minimum and the maximum
opening must be greater or equal to 5%. Likewise, the difference be-
tween the two temperatures must be greater or equal to 5
D
AMPER OPENING
The ACTUAL OPENING setting on the selection knob displays the cur-
rent position of the chimney damper in a range from 0 to 100 (as a
percentage of full open). To adjust this value, use the manual controls.
H
YSTERESIS
A hysteresis is defined to keep the number of winch movements down.
This avoids displacing the winch for minor fluctuations in outside tem-
perature. These winch movements are costly and can cause the winch
to oscillate. If the requested move is less than the hysteresis value, the
controller maintains the winch in its current position and does not honour
the request. For example, if the winch is currently inactive, it will stay
inactive as long as the magnitude of the next move is less than the
current value of the hysteresis. As soon as the temperature fluctuation
is large enough to warrant a displacement, the controller sends the winch
to the new position.
The hysteresis is measured as a percentage of damper opening. The
smaller the value, the more accurately the winch is moved. The range
of values goes from 1 to 20%. Initially, the hysteresis is set to 5%.
Adjusting the Hysteresis
Set the selection knob to ACTUAL OPENING. The current damper
opening is displayed. Press the push-button to display the hysteresis.
Using the adjustment knob, set the hysteresis to the desired value.
To return to the current damper opening, press the push-button.
