ALIBRATION
The controller is ready to be calibrated when the winch that controls the
chimney damper is connected to it. This step is essential to ensure an
accurate control of the winch. To complete this task, the operator must
manually position the damper opening for five pre-defined points: 0%
(closed), 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% (open).
Before calibrating, check if the damper opens when the selection knob
is set to MANUAL OPEN. If this isn't the case, the connections to the
winch are reversed. Fix the connections immediately before
proceding with the calibration. Also check to see it the damper
closes when the selection knob is set to MANUAL CLOSE.
Procedure
Set internal switch # 3 to ON. The letters "CAL" flash on the
display.
Set the selection knob to MANUAL CLOSE and close the damper
tight. When the damper is closed, set the selction knob to MANUAL
STOP. If you wait too long before stopping the winch, an AL 3 code
flashes on the display. This indicates that the limit switch on the winch
has been tripped. Press the push-button. This winch position corre-
sponds to a 0% damper opening.
The number 25 now flashes on the display corresponding to a 25%
damper opening. Using the manual controls, open the damper to one
quarter. Set the selection knob to MANUAL STOP and press the push-
button.
The number 50 now flashes on the display corresponding to a 50%
damper opening. Using the manual controls, open the damper half
way. Set the selection knob to MANUAL STOP and press the push-
button.
