SETTING THE TIMER
POWER~
The unit can be turned on at a specified
time every day with the
built-in
timer.
Set the timer as follows
while the power is on.
Preparation
Make sure the clock is set correctly,
To record the selected source onto a tape
using the
timer function
Before beginning
the timer setting,
insert a tape to be recorded
into deck 1, then start from step 1.

the II button within 4 seconds.

Designate
the hour
of the timer-on
time
by
pressing
the <

button, and press the
11 button.
Repeat this to designate
the minute of the timer-
on time.
Select the duration for the timer-activated
period
with the <

button, and press the II
button.

Prepare the source.
To
listen to a CD,
press the CD button and load the disc.
To
listen to the radio,
press the TUNER/BAND
button
and
tune in to a station.
To listen to a tape,
press the TAPE button,
insert a tape into
deck 1 or 2, and press the F
button for the corresponding
deck to start play.
To
listen to the equipment connected to the AUX/VIDEO
jacks,
press the AUX button and set the timer of the connected
equipment
(with an external
timer) and prepare
for the play.
Adjust the volume and press the POWER button
to turn the unit off.

on the display
after the power is turned
off (timer
standby
mode).
When
the timer-on
time
is reached,
the unit turns
on and
begins play with the selected
source.
The volume
level is automatically
set to 21 when the power is
turned off with the volume
level set to 22 or higher.
For timer recording:
Press the
button for the
deck 1.
The >
button is pressed
simultaneously.
To check the specified time
Press the TIMER
button.
The timer-on
time and the duration
for
the timer-activated
period flash for 4 seconds.
To
cancel timer standby
mode temporarily
Press the TIMER
button twice to turn off 0.
Using the unit while the timer is set
You can use the unit normally
after setting the timer.
Before turning
off the power, repeat step 4 to prepare the source,
and adjust the volume.

. Timer playback
will not begin unless the power is turned
off.
Connected
equipment
cannot be turned on and off by the built-
in timer of this unit.
Use an external
timer.
The duration
for the timer-activated
period can be set between
5 and 240 minutes
in 5-minute
steps.
