4.2 Selecting an installation location
 ELECTRICAL SHOCK, FIRE, AND/OR EXPLOSION HAZARD . Failure to obey the following
warnings can result in dangerous operation, property damage, serious injury, or death:
• Install or locate this appliance only in accordance with the provided instructions .
• Do not install the microwave where heat, moisture, or high humidity are generated, or near combustible
materials .
– Do not mount this unit over or near any portion of a heating or cooking appliance .
– Do not mount this unit over a sink .
• Do not cover or block any openings on the appliance . Ensure that the microwave has sufficient airflow for
proper operation . Allow 8 in . (20 cm) of space above the microwave, 4 in . (10 cm) at the back, and 2 in . (5
cm) at both sides .
• Do not remove the feet on which the microwave stands .
• Do not allow the power supply cord to run under the microwave or over any hot or sharp surfaces .

➤ Select the mounting location for the microwave oven unit, ensuring that:
– The location provides a flat, stable surface capable of supporting the entire weight of the microwave, as
well as the heaviest food likely to be cooked in the oven .
– The cabinet in which the microwave will be installed meets the dimensions specified above .
– The power supply cord is readily accessible so that it can be easily unplugged in an emergency .
