9.12 Phase Contrast observation (optional)
Slider phase contrast condenser (Fig. 33) allows observation in
brightfield and in phase contrast with 10X/20X/40X objectives.

9.12.1 Brightfield observation (BF)
1. Move the condenser slider in the central position to insert the
empty hole.
2. Center the condenser as described in chapter 9.8 and start
working normally.
9.12.2 Phase Contrast observation (PH)
1. Center the condenser as already described in the chapter
9.8.
2. Move the condenser slider all the way toward left to insert the
phase ring dedicated to 10X/20X objective. (Fig. 34)
3. Insert 10X or 20X objective into the light path.
4. Open aperture diaphragm.
5. Place a specimen on the stage and focus.
6. Remove one eyepiece and insert the centering telescope.
