guide frame. Use the reading line on the lateral
guide fence which corresponds to the slot length
produced by the chain cutting tool installed (for
40 mm or 50 mm).
Final quality of the mortice depends on feed speed,
characteristics of the workpiece and sharpness of
the chain cutter. For this reason, choose appropri-
ate cutting pressure or feed speed matching the
sort of mortised wood, and cut steadily down to
the required depth. In any case, sudden and jerky
movements must be avoided and the feed speed
remained stable.
Important: The chain cutter is a rotating tool. Cut-
ting edges of the chain cutter can work both during
descent and ascent. See the direction of rotation
marked with the arrow on the safety guard.
Side thrust of the cutting tool must always be com-
pensated by means of the lateral guide. Danger of
accident! For this reason, never work without the
lateral guide or use one of the guide frames. If a
large mortice is made by plunging the chain cutter
into the workpiece side by side, it is recommended
to proceed in accordance with Figure 4.

quires the motor housing to be opened, must
only be carried out by an authorised service
workshop.

Both the vertical guide rods must be protected
against rusting by regular lubrication.
10 Storage
Packed tools may be stored in dry unheated store-
rooms with temperatures not dropping below – 5
°C. Unpacked electric tools shall be stored only in
dry self-contained storerooms with temperatures
not dropping below + 5 °C, where sudden tempera-
ture changes are prevented.
11 Environment
Do not throw the power tool in your household
waste! Dispose of the machine, accessories and
packaging at an environmentally-responsible re-
cycling centre! Observe the valid national regula-
tions.
EU only: European Directive 2002/96/EC stipulate
that used electric power tools must be collected
separately and disposed of at an environmentally
responsible recycling centre.
