7. Description of device

The Supercracker is used for neutralising odours
in closed rooms. This is done by oxidatively break-
ing down the existing odour molecules with the help
of ozone. The ozone is generated through a electri-
cal discharge procedure before being blown into the
room air in high concentrations. The odour neutraliser
can be used to effectively and efficiently remove un-
pleasant odours such as kitchen or musty smells, the
smell of cigarette smoke, or the lingering odour that
remains after a fire etc. The applied procedure very
much resembles the manner in which the outdoor air
is cleaned during a thunderstorm.

Operating principle

The ozone is generated by high voltage discharges.
High voltage is used to create extremely powerful
electricity fields, which generate countless short bar-
rier discharges between the electrodes.
For individual adaptation to local requirements, the
odour neutraliser offers various cleaning programme
modes.
In the standard programme mode "Deodor", the
cleaning cycle has 2 stages:
Stage 1: Odour neutralisation
The fan integrated in the device takes in air from the
surrounding environment via the air filter located on
the rear side of the device, drawing it in so that it
passes through the double electrodes of the ozone
generator before being discharged back into the room
B-4
as ozone-containing air.
Ozone generation is carried out without the use of
chemicals and does therefore not harm the environ-
ment. After the device has been switched off and/
or after the cleaning process is complete, the ozone
remaining in the room air breaks down into normal
divalent oxygen (O
Stage 2: Room air regeneration
To support degradation of the remaining ozone, the
odour neutraliser features a special oxygen regenera-
tion mode. This mode is activated automatically af-
ter the set cleaning time has elapsed. The room air
is sucked in and the remaining ozone is degraded to
oxygen (O
The device has been designed and tested according
to the applicable safety standards and is provided
with a CE marking.
