5.4. AIR TIGHTNESS
Frequently check that the doors and ashtray are airtight. To ensure proper functioning of this appliance,
the openings must be airtight. If they are not, inspect the joints. If a joint must be replaced, contact your
distributor.
5.5. SUMMER BREAK
At the end of each heating season (i.e. summer months), your entire appliance must be completely cleaned
and the chimney inspected by a qualified technician.
Remove all the residual ashes from the appliance.
Leave one of the air supply controllers open to allow rainwater that may enter the chimney to evaporate.
For added protection, you can place absorbing crystals in the stove or cover the interior with a light
dehumidifying spray.
Apply lubricating oil to the latch handles and other movable parts.
5.6. CATALYTIC HYBRID WOODBOX SYSTEM
It is important to periodically inspect the Catalytic Hybrid Woodbox system to ensure that it is functioning
properly and determine when it needs to be replaced.
A non-functioning Catalytic Hybrid Woodbox system will result in a loss of heating efficiency, and an
increase in creosote and emissions. Catalysts should be visually inspected at least three times during the
heating season to determine if physical degradation has occurred.
Inspect the catalysts for any fly ash or clogging, and remove with a soft bristled brush or vacuum crevice
tool. If extra cleaning is needed, follow the guidelines below:
-
You may use compressed air under 2,5 bar (35 psi). Air only, no chemicals.
-
You may soak the catalysts in a hot water mix (not boiling), 4 parts water, 1 part vinegar. Rinse with
cold water until vinegar smell is mostly gone.
-
No metal tools should be used.
-
No detergents or chemicals.
Removal of catalysts is not recommended unless more detailed inspection is warranted because of
decreased performance.
5.7. PRODUCT RECYCLING
Your appliance is delivered packed in plastic and a cardboard box on a wooden pallet. You can use
cardboard and wood as fuel for the first lightings of the appliance, or take it to a local recycling point. The
plastic that protects the device must be taken to a specific local recycling point or center, it must not be
disposed of in conventional waste dumpster.
All local regulations, including those that refer to national or European regulations, must be applied when
recycling this device at the end of its useful life. The product should never be disposed of in conventional
waste dumpster. Its appliance is made up of components made of cast iron, steel, glass, insulating
materials and electrical material, which are assembled using screws and rivets. You can disassemble it
and take it to a specific local recycling point or center. Glass should not be disposed of in conventional
