1.1. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Installation must conform to current building regulations.
The appliance must be covered with non-combustible materials. If the floor is not tiled (i.e. carpet-
plain, parquet, etc.), it is advisable to provide a floor plate in front of the appliance (at least 50 cm in
front).
Make sure that the chimney is clean, free of soot or debris, and as straight as possible.
The chimney flue must be airtight and the inner walls as smooth as possible.
The connection between the chimney and the appliance must be as equally airtight and made of non-
combustible materials, protected, if possible, against oxidation (enamelled sheet metal, aluminium,
stainless steel...).
1.2. HEIGHT OF THE CHIMNEY
The chimney must be high enough and unconstructed to avoid backdraft. It should be protected with
insulating materials to lower the risk of sooting in the high part of the chimney fl ue, and if necessary, it
should be covered to avoid rain water from penetrating.
The chimney must be designed and built in a way to allow a suffi cient draw as to completely clear the
smoke from the inside.
As a rule:
1. The chimney must be at least 100cm higher that the point on the roof from which it emerges.
2. and be at least 60cms higher than any part of the building within a radius of 3m.
For the best draw, the chimney should be at least 5m long from the fl ue outlet of the appliance.
1.3. INSERT INSTALLATION
Remember when building the brick envelope for your appliance, you must place ventilation grilles on the
lower part for the entry of cold air into the envelope and in the upper part for the outlet of hot air into the
room.
The vents in the hood must be positioned so they cannot be blocked.
IMPORTANT! The air coming out of the upper vents can reach a high temperature. Do not use materials
that are not heat resistant in the outlet area of the vents. They must also be metallic, never wood or
plastic. Do not place any objects near the upper air vents, as the hot air that comes out of them can
damage them.
