Mounting the Insert
CAUTION
At least two installers are required due to the
weight and size of the insert.
1. Install optional AK08xxAS Stainless Steel Liner.
Review manual included with liner for more
details.
2. If no liner is used, cut out an opening in bottom
of the cabinet by following the dimensions in
FIG. B.
3. The PAS panel needs to be opened up to install
the insert. Open it by pressing the right side
clip to disengage the panel and pull down to
release the panel from the magnets.
4. Securely lower the PAS panel by swinging it
open. It will be held by screws from the hinges.
5. Remove the PAS panel by (2) screws each side.
Disconnect the wiring and remove filter. FIG. C.
6. Remove the screws from the inner brackets on
the face plate, FIG. D. Remove the face plate.
7. If ducting vertically, continue to step 8. If
ducting horizontally, knock out the rear duct 6"
hole before installing the insert.
8. Lift insert into opening and ensure locking clip
has locked into position. Locking clip is located
on left side of insert. FIG. E.
9. Fasten (2) #6 screws into each long side of
the insert. If a liner is used, the screws will go
through the insert mounting holes, then the
liner and into the wood base.
