Protocol Test Steps
•
Before testing, verify the board type according to descriptions below:
1.
RJ12 is connected to UART 0, while DSUB9 is connected to UART 1 — UART 0 and UART 1 can
be tested separately.
2.
RJ12 and DSUB9 are both connected to UART 0, while UART 1 is supported for OPS module but
not reachable — only UART 0 can be tested.
•
Activate HEX protocol on the display:
1.
Go to Display Settings > Signage Settings > Controls
2.
Change the ASCII option to HEX in the UART0 or UART1 submenu
Open any serial port communications program (e.g Realterm) and configure serial communication settings
as below:
Baud Rate:
19200 for UART0, 9600 for UART1
Parity:
None
Data Bits:
8
1. Ethernet port
2. Ethernet cable
3. PC
Run the software and enter the display's IP address in
the field Host Name. Enter "1986" as a default value in the
field Port. Then select Telnet as Connection type and click
the Open button.
Note: Refer to the Connectivity section of this manual for
information on connecting the display to a network and
displaying the IP address.
