STOPPING THE ELECTRIC ZERO TURN MOWER
DANGER : Never make sudden stops or abrupt changes of direction, especially when maneuvering on a slope. The lap
bars are designed for sensitive response. Rapid movement of the lap bars in either direction could result in a reaction of
the mower that can cause serious injury.
1. Return the lap bars to the Neutral Position.
2. Push the PTO switch downward to disengage the deck motors/mower's cutting blades.
3. Open the lap bars outward into the stop position.
4. Set the parking-brake pedal to the braking position.
5. Press the start/stop button for more than 3 seconds to turn off the mower.
NOTICE: After more than 1 hour without operating, the mower will automatically shut off.
6. Remove the safety key from the mower and keep it in a safe place.
WARNING: Do not stop the mower on a slope. Always stop the mower on a flat, level surface and never leave the
mower unattended with the safety key inserted, even just for a brief period. Leaving the key may allow unauthorized use
that could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: When the mower stops driving on a slope and the operator is off the seat without setting the parking-
brake pedal at the braking position, the audio indicator will continue to beep intermittently to remind the operator to set
the parking-brake for safe mower stopping on the slope. Always set the parking-brake pedal at the braking position when
leaving the seat. Otherwise, when the battery power is depleted, the mower will slide down the slope, which may
cause serious mower damage or personal injury!
DRIVING THE ELECTRIC ZERO TURN MOWER (Fig. 23 and 24)
After starting the mower, engage the lap bars as follows:
◾
To go forward, push lap bars forward an equal distance.
◾
To go in reverse, pull lap bars rearward an equal distance.
◾
To turn left, move the right lap bar farther from neutral than the left lap bar.
◾
To turn right, move the left lap bar farther from neutral than the right lap bar.
◾
To execute a zero-radius turn, slow down first and then move one lap bar forward and the other lap bar back of
neutral. This allows the drive (rear) wheels to counter-rotate.
NOTICE: Rapid movement of lap bars is not recommended as damage to the electric components of the mower may
occur.
NOTICE: Aggressive turning can scuff or damage lawns. Perform zero turns at low driving speed. Always keep both
wheels rotating when making sharp turns. Do not make turns with inside wheel completely stopped. For minimum
turning radius, slowly reverse the inside wheel while moving the outside wheel slowly forward.
◾
To stop or decrease the speed, move the lap bars to neutral. When driving forward, pull back gently on the lap bars.
When driving in reverse, push forward gently on the lap bars.
