1.3 Description
All hydraulic components and their placement in the system are visible on the flowchart which can be found
in the annexes (chapter §5 page A1-01). The same accounts for the electrical componants and the electric
diagrams.

The flushing subset is to be installed between the strainer (F02) and the feeding pump (P04) except when
the sandfilter option is also installed. In this case the flushing subset is to be installed between the
sandfilter subset and the prefiltration subset.

AIR FEED CHECKVALVE
•
Enables isolation of the R/O unit from the sea water feeding
circuit.
Screens the raw water to protect the feeding pump (P04).
Prevents water to go in the direction of the feeding pump (P04)
during the membrane flushing cycle.
Prevents sea water to go in the direction of the fresh water tank
during normal operation.
Enables the automatic membrane fresh-water flushing.
Ensures dechlorination of the water from freshwater tank
during the membrane flushing cycle.
Ensures feeding the hydraulic circuit. Installed below the
waterline, under load (at least 200mm)
Ensures supply to sand filter:
•
Normal operating: Filtration,
•
Backwashing and rinsing during filter cleaning.
Filtering of sea water between approx. 25µ and 50µ. This filter
can be backwashed.
Measures the outlet feeding pump (P04) pressure to monitor a
possible lack of water feeding.
20µ cartridge filter.
5µ cartridge filter.
Monitors low pressure in order to protect the high-pressure
pump from running with a lack of feed pressure.
Ensures pressurizing of sea water. Driven by an electric motor
in direct coupling.
Allows a graduate start of the motor that drives the HP pump
and pressure regulating by varying pump speed.
Drives the HP pump.
Evens out pressure spikes at the pump outlet.
Monitors high pressure to protect the system (and the
membranes) from overpressure.
Pressure-resistant vessels, containing R/O membranes.
The membrane(s) produce the fresh water.
Allows to release the pressure in the system.
Allows to create the pressure in the system.
Mesures the quantity of water produced.
Allows air to enter the system when the unit is switched off to
facilitate the phenomenon of osmosis in the membrane.
