3.3 Shut down
When shutting down the machine, always consider the time the machine will be out of use.
It is recommended to flush the membranes after each use to extend the life of the membrane(s) and to
prevent corrosion of the metal parts by electrolysis.
3.3.1
Normal shut down
Stop the unit by pressing the red OFF button.
Shut the hull valve (V0).
For every shut-down of more than 3 days, continue with the next chapter §3.3.2 and §3.3.3 to ensure
optimal condition of the membran(s).
3.3.2
Flushing the membrane(s)
It is possible to execute this step automatically after each stop of the unit. This is described in §3.6.2.
1. Stop the unit by pressing the red OFF button, accessible from almost every screen.
2. Go to the "Operation menu" and press the FLUSHING button (blue).
3. The machine will automatically perform the following steps:
a. The production valve stays in the reject position,
b. The flushing valve (V17) opens,
c. The HP pump will run for 5 minutes,
d. The flushing valve (V17) closes.
The solenoid valve (V17) opens to take water from the on-board fresh water network (between minimal 1.5 and 3
bar max.). The flushing cycle starts (HP pump P40) and continues for 5 minutes, before the pump stops and the
solenoid valve closes.
The membranes are flushed with approximately 18 litres of fresh water from the on-board fresh water tank.
The water from the on board water network can not contain more than 0.4 mg/L of chlorine. This is the
maximum load that can be handeled by the active carbon filter.
AQUA-BASE
unit is operating and producing correctly (<750ppm).
