Before fitting the R&G tail tidy you will need to remove some OEM parts. Below is a list of parts
to be removed.
Seat unit
Plastic under seat tray
OEM number plate bracket
OEM indicators (to re-use with Tail Tidy)
Disassembly:
Before assembling this product, ensure all the components within the box are correct
1. Open the seat unit using the ignition key.
2. Remove the fuel cap and tool kit.
3. Remove the plastic pop clips holding the under-seat tray seen in Picture 1.
4. Remove the tray then re-fit the fuel cap.
5. Remove the OEM number plate bracket.
TAIL TIDY FITMENT:
1. Using the supplied heat shrink, shrink over the licence plate light wires.
2. Fit the licence plate light (Item 15) to the licence plate bracket (Item 2) then fit the
assembly to the main bracket (Item 1) using the supplied 3X countersunk bolts,
washers & nuts (Items 4, 5 & 8).
3. Then route the cable up and through the X shape in the R&G tail tidy.
4. Connect the number plate light connector (Item 3) at the tail tidy end and the OEM
wiring harness end then test operation.
5. Once the OEM licence plate bracket has been removed, it should reveal 5x threaded
studs on the underside of the rear fender (Picture 2).
6. Offer up the tail tidy and slide the 5X studs through the holes on the tail tidy.
7. Loosely thread on the 3X M6 nyloc nuts with washers (Items 6 & 9) onto the 3X studs
in the centre of the tail tidy.
8. Once it can be held in place, pull through as much of the number plate wiring as
possible then tuck it out of the way inside the undertray. Use the supplied cable ties
to wrap the excess wires if required.
Do not leave any cables in the way of the seat lock mechanism or any bolt/pop clips
9. Apply the remaining M8 nuts and washers (Items 7 & 10) to the M8 studs towards
the front of the motorcycle. Ensuring no cables are being pinched/trapped by the
bracket when tightening.
10. Fully tighten all nuts in a cross pattern.
11. Apply the supplied self-adhesive foam onto the main mounting bracket near the lip of
the rear fender if required.
