In the case of soiled or rusty gas cylin-
ders, it is usually difficult to determine
the fill level. The determining process can
also be impeded by the following:
− An invisible area of rust inside the gas
cylinder
− A very thick coat of paint on the out-
side of the gas cylinder
− Stickers on the outside of the gas
cylinder
− (Icy) condensation on the outside of the
gas cylinder
− Dented or severely scratched gas
cylinders

Cleaning the gas cylinder or
taking the indication at a dif-
ferent point is usually successful in
such cases.
Determining the fill level
Shut off all gas appliances before deter-
mining the fill level.
Determine the fill level by taking several
indications at various heights on the gas
cylinder (from the bottom to the top).
Do not drag the LevelCheck along
the gas cylinder.
An indication is started by pressing the
ultrasound head (Fig. 1-1) horizontally
onto the gas cylinder (confirmed by a
beep tone).
