ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
The air compressor is preassembled.
BEFORE FIRST USE
1.
Check the engine oil level. Running the engine with a low oil level can cause engine damage.
2.
Fill the tank to approximately 1.5 in. (38 mm) below the top of the fuel tank to allow for fuel
expansion. Take care to not overfill the tank. It may be necessary to lower the fuel level depending
on operating conditions.
3.
Move the piloted unloader lever to the vertical start position (Fig. 2).
4.
Open the drain valves on the pressure storage tanks.
5.
Start the engine by following the instructions in the engine manual.
6.
Run the compressor continuously for 30 minutes with the drain valves open.
7.
Stop the engine by following the instructions in the engine manual.
8.
Close the pressure storage tanks' drain valves.
INSTALL AIR HOSE
Make sure the air hose's coupling style and diameter matches your equipment. Adapters may be used as needed (included).
1.
Locate the male air outlet valve or connector on the equipment.
2.
Wrap the external threads of the valve or connector with sealant tape.
a.
Wrap tape in a clockwise direction so it will not unravel.
b.
Do not tape all the threads. Leave several leading threads unwrapped for easier alignment.
3.
Check that the hose's o-ring is seated properly in the female connector.
4.
Screw the air hose's female connector onto the outlet valve. Tighten with a wrench.
5.
Run the compressor at a low volume and check the connection for air leaks. Do not use the tool until all air leaks are
repaired or the faulty component is replaced.
6.
Follow the air tool's instructions for installing a coupler on the other end.
OPERATIONS
PRE-START CHECKLIST
1.
Always operate the compressor in a level position to lubricate the engine properly.
2.
Inspect/clean/change intake elements on a regular basis. The ingestion of dirt into the pump is the primary cause of
premature wear. Check intake filters daily.
3.
Check tension of bolts and hardware on a regular basis. Operation of any equipment with loose bolts and/or fittings will lead
to excessive vibration and the premature failure of the compressor system control components.
4.
Drain moisture from the air tanks daily. Water is a natural by-product of compressed air. Drain the air tanks after each use to
combat internal tank corrosion. Keep drain valves open if storing compressor for any length of time.
•
Tip the air compressor to either side with the drain valves open to remove all condensation from each pressure storage
tank.
DAILY START-UP
1.
Close the drain valve on each tank.
2.
Move the piloted unloader lever to the vertical start position (Fig. 2).
3.
Start the engine by following the instructions in the engine manual.
•
Wait 1 minute for the pump to warm up.
4.
Move the unloader lever to the horizontal run position.
5.
Adjust the air pressure regulator to the tool's working pressure. Proceed to use the tool.
6.
The engine will idle until the pressure level within the tank falls below the cut-in pressure level. The engine will increase
power until the cut-out pressure level is reached and it will return to idling.
SHUTDOWN
1.
Shut the engine off and allow to cool.
2.
Move the piloted unloader lever to the vertical start position (Fig. 2).
