Always cut stems or twigs that are less than 1.1 in (28 mm) thick. Use a non-
powered hand saw or pruning saw to trim large stems.
Close Cutting to the Ground
1. Cut close to the ground from a standing
position, e.g. for trimming low shrubs.
2. Set the cutting blades to a suitable
angle.
3. Swing the hedge trimmer right and left
in an arc. and do not rest the cutter
blade on the ground (Fig. 11).
Cutting the side of the hedge
(Fig. 12a & 12b)
1. Set the cutting blades to a suitable
angle.
2. Slowly swing the hedge trimmer up
and down in an arc as you move along
the hedge.
