Filter tank BERLIN² / Maintenance
7.5 Replacing the filter material
Your filter system will achieve the best results if you have the filter material replaced after 3 years at the
latest.
The filter material and filter tank are matched to each other. Only use the BEHNCKE
indicated in the bulk table, see chapter 3.2.
To replace the filter material, a service technician is imperative, as it is when
you first start up the system.
Backwash the filter system.
Switch off the system.
Set backwash valve to "Closed".
Vent the filter tank.
Allow the filter tank to run empty:
Open the upper (2) and side lid (5.2) and remove the old filter material.
For what to do next, see chapter 5.5.
24
Close the aeration and ventilation valves as well as the untreated and clean water
pipes to the filter.
Unscrew the PVC drain nut at the base (Caution: A little water may drip from the
drain.)
Quickly screw in the drainage kit (consisting of the enclosed Gardena adapter and
the Gardena hose connector, not enclosed) properly.
Place the hose into a sufficiently-sized floor drain and open the aeration and
ventilation valve (Caution: Over 1,000 litres of water may flow out of the tank here).
NOTE
Before each new start-up of the filter, the filter material must be backwashed
(at least 4 minutes) to rinse out any fine grain present.
NOTE
Over 1,000 litres of water can flow out of the tank here.
