9 – Mode of operation
General information on sawing
ATTENTION! When cutting, first
make sure that the saw blade
cannot come into contact with the
fence rail, screw clamps or other
parts of the appliance at any time.
Remove any auxiliary fences fitted or
adjust them accordingly. Do not put so
much load on the power tool that it is
forced to a stop. Too hard a feed will
considerably impair the performance of
the power tool and shorten the service
life of the saw blade. Use only sharp
saw blades which are suitable for the
material to be worked.
Wood machining
The saw blade included in the delivery
is suitable only for working wood. The
choice of the correct saw blade depends
on the kind of wood, wood quality and
whether rip- or cross-cutting is required.
ATTENTION! Beech and oak dust
are particularly harmful to the
health. So work only with the dust
extractor running.
Hand position
Keep your hands, fingers and arms away
from the rotating saw blade (Fig. 7a+b).
Do not cross your arms in front of the
tool (Fig. 8a+b).
Trimming
Clamp the workpiece firmly in e.g. a screw
clamp (not included in the delivery) to fit
the dimensions. Set the desired mitre
angle. Start the power tool. Press the

locking lever (2) and use the handle (1)
to guide the saw head downwards. Saw
the workpiece at an even feed. Switch
off the power tool and wait for the saw
blade to come to a dead stop. Guide
the saw head slowly upwards.
Special workpieces
When sawing bent or round workpieces,
make sure particularly that the workpieces
cannot slip. No gap must form between
the workpiece, workpiece fence (4) and
the saw bench (3). If necessary, make
special fixtures.
Working on shaped strips (floor or cover
strips)
You can work shaped strips in two ways:
1.
1. by holding them against the workpiece
fence,
2. by laying them flat on the saw bench.
Always test the set mitre angle on a
piece of waste wood first.
Dust/chip extractor
Dust created during work may
be inflammable, explosive or
harmful to health. Appropriate
safety measures are required. Example:
Some types of dust are carcinogenic.
Use a suitable dust/chip extractor and
wear a dust protection mask.
Using the spring clip, attach dust
collecting bag (14) to the chip ejection
hole (10).
