Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions,
damage or physical injury:
 Keep the device away from children or persons in need of supervision. It is
not a toy.
 Make sure the clamps cannot touch each other. This can destroy the unit,
lead to extreme amounts of sparks, or even to an explosion.
 Ensure correct polarity when connecting batteries and other devices (black
battery clamp to minus, red battery clamp to plus). Wrong polarity can lead
to the destruction of the unit, to extreme sparking, or, in the extreme, the
explosion of the unit.
 When working on a battery, wear eye protection to protect your eyes from
flying sparks and battery acid.
 If battery acid is splattered on skin or clothing, wash out with high amounts
of water and soap. Soap neutralises battery acid. If battery acid gets into
the eyes or on mucosa, wash under running, cool water for at least
10 minutes and consult a physician.
 Always use care when handling batteries and observe the safety notes of
the manufacturer of the lead-acid battery.
 If the lead-acid battery is still mounted in the vehicle, first disconnect the
negative terminal (black clamp) and then the positive terminal (red clamp).
The batteries in vehicles may only be charged after being completely
disconnected from the vehicle's electric system. This will avoid damage to
the generator, the voltage regulator, the electronics, and the foot powered
generator.
 Do not wear jewellery, watches, necklaces or similar items when working
with batteries, to avoid electric shock or short circuits. Do not place metal
items on any battery.
 Do not smoke and do not work with a naked flame around batteries or
motors.
 Be very careful with metal tools around the car battery. A short circuit
between earth and the positive terminal can lead to a fire or an explosion. It
will definitely lead to a high amount of sparking and a risk of injury.
 Avoid any kind of sparking. It can lead to the explosion of hydrogen emitted
from the battery or to the destruction of electric devices.
