Setting the idle speed
Turn out the idle adjusting screw (speed) (counterclock-
wise): Idle speed drops.
Turn in the idle adjusting screw (speed) (clockwise): Idle
speed goes up.
Caution: If after this adjustment the cutting tool still rota-
tes during idle, do NOT work with the unit! Take it to a
DOLMAR service center!
Note: Carburetor adjustment is necessary for optimum
engine performance, for safer and more economical ope-
ration.
In order to comply with new emissions legislation, limits have
been placed on the carburetor adjusting screws (H) and (L).
This limitation (to about 180 degrees) prevents an excessively
rich mixture. On some models the (H) screw is also sealed. This
ensures compliance with emissions rules as well as optimum
engine performance and economical fuel consumption.
Working in winter
normal operation
A
In order to prevent carburetor icing in conditions of low temper-
ature combined with high humidity, and in order to get up to
operating temperature faster in subfreezing temperatures,
heated air can be taken from the cylinder (marking (circled) on
insert in "snowflake" position).
At temperatures above freezing the carburetor must NOT be
fed heated air (marking (circled) on insert in "sun" position).
Failure to follow these instructions can lead to damage
to the cylinder and piston!
